Bucking Bedtime
We've been home for a week now, and miss vacation-mode terribly. We scroll through the pictures and long for sunny, blue skies, historic sights, tasty "foreign" food, and our dear friends.
Fortunately, we picked up a Lego Architecture Buckingham Palace set when we were in London, so Lincoln and I have enjoyed strolling down vacation-memory lane while he has painstakingly assembled the model of Queen Elizabeth II's official home. We love the fun facts they included through the guide (did you know it is built in the French neo-classical style and that there are over 40,000 light bulbs in the palace?!), and enjoyed watching the creation take shape.
Last night, Lincoln caught a second wind when we got home from shopping for school supplies, and declared he wanted to finish the task. I eyeballed the clock and said that was probably a bad idea...we were both tired, it was late, I'd had a long day at work, yada yada yada. But he reminded me we could sleep in, and wouldn't it be great to have it done to show to Max when he arrives?
So away he went...and at 11:03 pm declared success. Way to go, Buckaroo!
