Two practices and two games in to his first ever basketball league and Lincoln hasn't asked to stay home yet! I credit his sister for liking it enough last year so that he's following her lead this year. Coach Peter is tough but fair. His son plays both Travel Basketball and Rec League, so he knows a great many drills and treats the kids like young aspiring athletes, not 8-10-year-olds who are accustomed to being pampered by their parents. Woe be the child who dribbles while coach is talking, or as Lincoln did last practice, speaks up when asked who wants to play defense in the 5-on-3 drill. "I don't want to play defense," he said. "Great," said coach, "you're the first defender then."
