'Tis the season

We thought we'd be cliche this weekend and pick apples with the rest of the northeast. Luckily there are orchards fewer than 10 miles from the homestead, so we spent a pleasant afternoon at Bowman Farms. The trees were pretty well picked, but our little monkeys climbed to the highest branches to fill one bag with a mix of McIntosh, Empire, Golden Delicious and Macoun. I believe the current plan is to make a pie and an apple crisp. Stay tuned.
