Introducing... Yeager Merrill

Mittens has gotten a little too comfortable lounging in window sills and sleeping on beds, so we're going to rock his world next Sunday and welcome another four-legged animal to the house. Yeager was found June 7 on a road in Milden, N.Y., and brought to the Ayres Animal Shelter. He's a little over one-year-old and a unique mix of German Shepherd and Hound. I think he literally looks like someone removed the pointed ears of a German Shepherd and pasted on the floppy ears of a Hound. He has the size of a Shepherd, for sure, weighing in at about 70 pounds. A tad bigger than we had planned when we envisioned a dog in our home, but it's very hard to say no when your kid feels like this:

We visited him one final time today at the shelter before they bring him to our house next Sunday and I brought along the camera.
