State Museum of New York

With the kids off the bus at 11, we drove into our new city to have lunch with Mommy and check out the state museum. The kids were enthralled by a 20-minute video testimonial from a 9/11 firefighter from Engine Co. 6, the only one from his company who survived the attacks. They also enjoyed exhibits about  logging in the Adirondacks and the natural wildlife found in the state.

And played a spirited game of checkers until almost the end, when Lincoln chose a Kamikaze strategy rather than losing with dignity.

And they found South Lake on a map of the Adirondacks.
