Our last August weekend as a family in South Orange was lovely. The Hayden girls were our wards on Saturday as their parents ran their consignment shop's semi-annual bag sale. The foursome played by themselves most of the day, so much so that Carey felt herself dozing off at the playground! We ended the day with a lamb chop, fig and Mexican cheese cookout and a water gun battle in the backyard.
Sunday we trekked to Hoboken/Jersey City for more water play in the pier-side parks that dot the waterfront.
Tomorrow I'm off to L.A. for a week of work and on Saturday we're headed to South Lake for summer vacation, part 1. So don't look for too many posts between now and Aug. 21.
