Big kid, big party

A year in the making, Greta's first slumber birthday party this weekend was a huge success. Six girls arrived at dinner time and enjoyed a meal of "magic spaghetti" (hot dog chunks threaded with pasta), knox blocks, carrot sticks, monkey bread and fruit kebabs with cream cheese sugar dip.

Bellies full, they set to work making tie-dyed sleep shirts.

After that, it was blow-out-the-candles time. The cake featured slices with each girl's name on it.

After dessert, a screening of "Annie" began in the playroom, the floor covered with three queen-sized air mattresses.

It was then lights out at 1030 and the last girl fell asleep about 1120. In the morning, it was another group meal of waffles, fruit and whip cream.

In the next post -- presents -- and a big surprise!
