Groundhog Day at the Zoo

Happy to report that both Pennsylvania's Punxsutawney Phil and New Jersey's Essex (County) Ed didn't see their shadow and predict an early spring.

We were among the hardy couple dozen who braved the frigid temps for a photo-op with Essex Ed.

Ed entertained visitors afterward in the bear house, where Jelly and Jam also made an appearance.

Lincoln's faux hawk is courtesy of Super Cuts. He apparently learned how to do it himself with a little gel and says this is his new hairstyle. We'll see when Monday morning rolls along.

Even in the Reptile House they stressed the groundhog theme, letting kids create their own pop-up rodents.
