Camping

We haven't yet slept on the hard earth in a tent together, but Lincoln and I took the first step on Thanksgiving night. All the kids had been playing in his Spider-Man pop-up tent throughout the afternoon in the playroom and when he looked at me with those innocent eyes and asked if he could spend the night sleeping in his sleeping bag, how could I resist? He was fine in his L.L. Bean bag, but I required a couple comforters to act as padding between my almost-40-year-old back and the hardwood. Still, we both slept soundly and he's eager to go camping for real this summer. Are you listening, Grandpa Jerry?
