Waiting on an egg...

The kids went to the local toy store, Sparkhouse Kids, on Sunday to meet the illustrator of the Madeline books. They brought with them their wallets so they could buy something. Greta spent all hers ($8) plus $3 of Lincoln's and a $9 loan from Mom on a music/jewelry box that features a spinning ballerina twirling to some Swan Lake tune. Lincoln spent just $4 on a frog that grows and shrinks when exposed to water and an egg that hatches a turtle after 72 hours immersed in water. That egg is now a constant companion. This morning they woke up to discover a crack in it and now 12 hours later the turtle's head is poking out.
