For some reason the community pool adopted a policy midway through the summer that required kids to pass a deep water swimming test in order to continue swimming or jumping or diving in the deep end. We were anxious that Lincoln might not pass, but we shouldn't have been. Both swam the width of the deep end and back using a bonafide "stroke" (Linc=breast, Greta=back) and then treaded water for 30 seconds.
Here they are sporting their Deep Water badges with their friend Henry. Note Lincoln's superhuman x-ray lungs that help him stay underwater like a fish.
