First day of first grade

I've heard only sporadic stories so far, but this is what I know:

• Mrs. Dorton and Miss Reilly are Greta's teachers;
• There are 21 kids in her class;
• Greta already knew one of them, a girl named Day, who attended one of her myriad preschools;
• Greta can sit with whomever she likes during lunch (unlike last year when classes sat together);
• The cafeteria doubles as the gym, triples as the auditorium, and quadruples as the art classroom;
• We pay about $13,000 in school taxes for all that lack of space.

It's not even fully light out at 7:25 when we leave the house.

Thankfully, the walk to the bus stop is just one house to the left.

New school year = new shoes!
