We weren't very patriotic, but we did spend it with some of our favorite people: Our friends the Hitchcocks in Englishtown, N.J., and my sister and her family in Rye, N.Y. Despite Greta's aforeblogged miserable night in Rye, we had a great time. The "sprayground" in Colts Neck, N.J., with Greta & Joelle was a highlight, as was the "adult" time we enjoyed with Sara & Peter after the kids were in bed Sunday night. Here are my two favorite photos from the weekend. A full link to a 75-photo slideshow is coming shortly.

We had a fabulous time with you three. By the way, we still refer to you as "the neighbors". The time flew by, and we were sad/relieved that we didn't bid proper farewells. Viewing the entries for July and June allowed me to realize the full extent of Rob's psychosis, which I partially attribute to his intelligence. His sarcastic remarks kept me chuckling, but the photo of the ridiculous shoe faux-pas left me hysterical. We miss you guys so much!!
